Station information

This is located very near to the centre of the City with some large and smaller hotels within either walking distance or a short taxi ride.

All platforms at the train station have lifts to get onto and off the platform and into the main part of the station. This means that there is access for people with disabilities.

Other nearby stations are Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray and Loughborough. Local stations at South Wigston, Narborough and Hinckley.

Taxis

The station has a busy forecourt with taxis being available at all times.

Connections are available from Leicester across country in the direction of Birmingham or Peterborough.

Trains running between London and Nottingham usually stop at Leicester; trains from Leicester to Nottingham run every 30 minutes at peak times.

Connections can also be made to small towns in the County including Hinckley, Narborough, Wigston, Melton Mowbray and Oakham in Rutland.

Shops

The main railway station in Leicester is a short walk from the main city centre shops. Just turn right when you come out of the station, take the pedestrian underpass and you will be in Granby Street. Keep walking ahead and you will eventually arrive at the Clock Tower. The Shires Shopping Centre is very hear there in the High Street and you will be outside the Haymarket shopping centre and theatre.
